Wind Concerns Ontario

I am honoured to serve as President of Wind Concerns Ontario. Wind Concerns Ontario is a coalition of thirty-eight grassroots organizations across twenty-six of Ontario’s counties and the City of Toronto, united in common purpose to raise awareness about the impacts of industrial wind power facilities on our health, environment, economy and quality of life.

Save The Toronto Bluffs

I am proud to be a member of the grassroots planning committee of Save The Toronto Bluffs, and organization made up of Guildwood and other Scarborough residents dedicated to the preservation of our lake, shoreline and bluffs from unnecessary damage at the hands of Toronto Hydro’s irresponsible wind farm proposal. Toronto Hydro’s refusal to follow the law, meet any international standards or show Guildwood residents respect has me resolved to push them back and defeat their project with the help of hundreds of Guildwood residents, I am so pleased to work with.

Current on the Wire

As a citizen journalist, I’ve had the opportunity to cover both the Ontario NDP and Ontario PC leadership conventions using new media tools. Much of the non partisan work I undertook to cover these conventions has been done as part of a joint project between http://laforet.ca and Current on the Wire. As other opportunities present I will continue to work with Current on the Wire to make candidates more accessible to voters and the public. View the videos on my blog, in the media gallery or at currentonthewire.com.

Canadian Cancer Society

This will by my third year as a Canadian Cancer Society volunteer and my second as a member of the Relay For Life executive committee for Scarborough. Each year has brought new challenges and responsibilities, but this is a role, I find incredibly touching. The success of Relay for Life, the atmosphere at the event and the great people I get to work with planning and executing it make it an honour to be apart of.
