Wind Concerns Ontario Annual General Meeting a Success!
Sunday November 22nd marked the first annual meeting of Wind Concerns Ontario, which was originally founded in October 2008 with twenty-two groups forming the original membership. I am pleased to report Wind Concerns Ontario now represents forty-two groups in twenty seven counties. To put the size of Wind Concerns growth in perspective – since I became President in August 2009, Wind Concerns has picked up nine new grassroots groups in reached into six new counties.
It was a great opportunity for the folks in Wind Concerns to meet face to face with many people they’ve communicated with by email and over the phone. In fact, I was saying to one person, had the Wind Industry tried to get away with this in the 1990’s – the technology would not have existed to orchestrate opposition and their tired, corrupt, dirty tactics and tricks probably would have worked. Our movement has turned the tide quite a bit, and has begun pulling the blinds back to expose them and our government for what they are and what they are doing.
Our Annual General Meeting served as an opportunity for members of the forty-two groups to come together, discuss the events of the past year, and plot the course for the coming year. I am and continue to always be amazed by the dedication and support that comes from Wind Concerns Ontario’s membership to keep on going and am pleased we’ve been able to develop a strategy and structure for moving forward together even more effectively than we’ve already been.
Much of these details will come out over the coming weeks and months, but the message is clear – if CanWEA, and local and provincial governments are worried now, you haven’t seen anything yet.
My heart felt thanks goes to everyone who has contributed over the last year and those who have committed to do so moving forward, because I know that together we’ll be able to get the results we’re seeking.

I could not be there due to work and distance. It is no surprise that it went well. Great people doing what is right. It is nice to know we are not alone. Thanks John. Keep it coming.
