Even if the capacity factor is only 20%, Smitherman and the rest of his slippery crew will jack the price high enough to make it profitable. The price being offered for offshore developments of any size is 19 cents/kWh. Smitherman is a wind nut who wanted to put a windmill on everybody's doorstep until his wings got clipped by the outcry at the Green Energy Act committee hearings. McGuinty saw that he might be in trouble and that the NIMBYs had teeth, so he allowed for greater setbacks. I'll bet the comments generate lots of water cooler chatter, not to mention in the boardroom too. I always thought that the anenmometer was a done deal before there was any opposition mounted. The real battle is yet to come. TO Hydro has won their version of Dunkirk but we will have our version of June 6, 1944. TO Hydro certainly pays attention to your comments.
