As a former candidate, former party activist, current community activist and blogger I certainly can’t disagree with his assessment either.

Even if you look at the last month or so of my writing, it has been a mix of Green Energy Act stuff where I am part of the story as traditional media sources have sought me out over the last month for commentary in opposition to Premier McGuinty, and coverage of the NDP race, where I have been seeking candidates out in hopes of generating unbiased original content.

So on one front I am clearly a political activist, and on the other I’m clearly playing a media role.

Greg’s observation is certainly important, but difficult to understand if it is good, bad, or just a new reality we’ll need to watch and judge as we go.

I frankly can’t tell.

Great interview. I particularly like Greg’s observation: “”Well, I think a lot of rolls are being blurred now. Politicians blog – bloggers run for office -etc. etc. Media run for office, media get appointed to the senate … wink, nudge. So all that is to say that those clear established lines between politician, media, amateur commentator, political party activist they’re are all beginning to blur.”
